Making bathing loveliness for Christmas

Last Sunday was bath present making hour...

With a book of bath treat recipes, I decided to make my bath bomb and bath creamers for Christmas. I had dried out some lavender from last Summer's trip to Devon and some rose petals from the garden. I decided that as it was a lovely bright morning and baby was sleeping that I could start my bath treats.

You can buy starter kits from www.bath-bomb.com

Firstly, I made the lavender creamers but melting the Cocoa and Shea butter in the microwave and adding the sweet almond oil and lavender essence to the melted oil. My prized lavender buds and rose petals were added to the mixture at the end and I left them to set. After a day I took some of the creamer out of the cake papers and make a little acetate bag up. Mum was my tester and she said they were very rich but lovely as a treat.

The bath bombs were more of a challenge as I wanted to use a heart shape mould but really needed to a bath bomb mould. What I go was smaller bath melts which is cool. I made my bath bombs by adding the sand esque mixture to a small freezer bag, shaping and then wrapping the lot in foil and leaving for a day to set and it worked!

I have really enjoyed finding a new craft and giving something for Christmas this year that I have made in my kitchen that isn't baked!
